The Seward County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash involving a vehicle colliding with a tree March 29 at approximately 7:15 p.m. The crash occurred near 252nd and Saltillo roads.
Preliminary investigation on scene revealed a vehicle occupied by a single person left the roadway and collided with a tree, which resulted in the vehicle catching fire.
The driver was removed from the vehicle by Seward County deputies and a trooper with the Nebraska State Patrol.
The individual was then transported to Bryan LGH West by Milford Fire & Rescue with severe burns.
While getting the victim out of the vehicle, three deputies with the Seward County Sheriff’s Office sustained injuries. All three deputies were treated at Seward Memorial Hospital and released that evening.
Because the driver is a minor, their name will not be released.
The accident is being investigated by the Nebraska State Patrol.
The Milford Police Department, Milford Fire/ Rescue, Saline County Sheriff’s Office, Dorchester Fire/Rescue and CAMC ALS also assisted on scene.
