A peaceful “paws” for finals week

Students on Milford's Southeast Community College campus had a chance to destress with furry friends during finals week.

Healing Heart Therapy Dogs visited the campus April 29, allowing students to come by in between finals and peacefully play and pet with three dogs.

“Therapy dogs in higher education is a two-way street of benefits,” said Dr. K. L. Zupancic, a psychology instructor at SCC. “It allows our students to de-stress between final exams, and it’s beneficial to the dogs themselves who are the recipients of our students’ positive attention and love.”Dogs first started coming to the campus during finals week nine years ago and have become a staple ever since.
