The Seward County Board of Commissioners met Nov. 17 with its newest District One commissioner, Misty Ahmic.

During the meeting, the board:

• tabled a $34,407.92 reimbursement for services provided by Motorola for emergency 911 services, as presented by director Andrew Matney. Seward County Sheriff Mike Vance said it may be able to be paid via the county drug fund. He would look into it and a decision was to be made during the Nov. 24 meeting.

• discussed updating a county employee nepotism policy, clarifying a spouse, child under their roof or any sort of domestic partner could not be employed by a county official. The modification was brought forward by Commissioner John Culver, but after questioning and requests for clarification took place, the motion died.

• heard from human relations director Brea Ehmen regarding a county employee wellness program for 2021, which is the same as 2019’s and call “Maintain, Don’t Gain.” It was approved by the board.

The next Seward County Board of Commissioners meeting will be Dec. 1 at 9 a.m. on the third floor of the courthouse. Meetings are open to the public.
