Charlene Ann Stutzman was born Dec. 8, 1947, in Friend, to Vern and Lucille (Roth) Stauffer and passed away Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021, at the age of 73 at home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Charlene graduated from Milford High School in 1966. She worked at Yost Brothers Lumber Yard for 10 years. On Dec. 6, 1974, she was united in marriage to Jim Stutzman and to this union, two daughters, Janel and Jill, were born. She later worked at Warren Memorial Hospital, initially as a cook, and then in the business office. After retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at Et Cetera in Seward.

Charlene’s faith in Christ was first and foremost throughout her life. She was a life-time member of East Fairview Mennonite Church. Charlene loved being outdoors working in her garden, planting and taking care of her flowers and mowing. She also loved spending time sitting on her porch enjoying nature. She never met a person she couldn’t have a conversation with. However, her greatest joy in life was spending time and making memories with her grandkids, Harleigh and Quinten.

Charlene is survived by her husband, Jim, of rural Friend; daughters and spouse, Janel Stutzman and Jill and Nick Crow, all of Lincoln; two grandchildren, Harleigh and Quinten Crow; brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Carla Stauffer, Lincoln; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law and spouses, Jane and Richard Burkey, Michigan, Kurt and Miriam Stutzman, Friend, Ted and Karen Stutzman, Missouri, uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vern and Lucille Stauffer; her parents-in-law, Gerald and Mary Stutzman; and several uncles and aunts.

The graveside services was Sept. 29 at East Fairview Cemetery, rural Milford. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family for future designation. Condolences may be left for the family online at www.lauberfh.com.
