The Milford City Council held its annual organizational meeting Dec. 6, with the mayor appointing members and city staff to their respective positions.

Council appointments remained the same as in 2022, except Becky Freeman will serve as liaison to the Pool board, and Kelli Keib will serve as liaison to the senior center.

Forrest Siebken was retained as chief of police, Jeanne Hoggins as city clerk and Gary TeSelle as maintenance superintendent.

Tony DeLong was re-elected president of the council, and Freeman is acting president.

Additional appointments and re-appointments of non-council members include:

Emergency Management – Wayne Stohlmann and Jeremy Dinges

Board of Adjustments – Mike Howe and Dean Bruha

Housing Authority – Jolene Pohlman and Christine Schwindt

Pool Board – Ashley Eicher and Leslie Toovey

Citizen Advisory Review Committee – Jim Kremer and Marian Eicher

The council voted to retain Amanda Hromek as recreation coordinator and hired Landon Allen as a part-time library clerk.

In other business, the council authorized an addendum that would add the City of Milford to an interlocal agreement among Seward, Butler, Saline and York counties and the cities of Seward and York for public safety software, hardware and related services from Zuercher Technologies.

It also accepted notice of retirement from Siebken, effective April 21, 2023. The city will begin the search for a new police chief.
