Dale Dennis Daake was born Jan. 16, 1945, in Seward, and passed away Jan. 17, 2025.
A man of deep commitment and service, Dale was well-known and respected in his community. Dale worked tirelessly as an insurance agent and underwriter for various companies over a span of 43 years. He also held leadership positions in numerous local organizations, including serving on various church boards, the Kiwanis Club, Jaycees, and as a kids baseball and softball coach.
Dale was also a dedicated Free Mason. He was recognized for his service to his community with various awards, including Assistant Sexton for the City of Seward, vice President and president for the Milford Chamber of Commerce, vice President and president for the volunteer fire department and rescue squad and vice president and president of Thornridge Golf Course.
Dale was a man of many passions. He loved to golf and was a fixture on the local golf courses. Yet, his greatest joy was his family. As Dale once said, “The love of family is life's greatest blessing.” Dale's love for his family was evident in the way he lived his life, always putting them first. Dale also ran a cafe called Westward Ho, where he was able to combine his love of serving the community with his love of good food.
Dale is lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Joyce Daake; his children, Brian (Karmen) Daake, Janelle (Ed) Gerlach, and Trisha (Eric) Martin; grandchildren, Samantha (Cody) Davis, Lauren Daake, Colten Daake, Brenden Gerlach, Devin Eis, Austin Martin and Carlie (Patrick) McReynolds; brother, Jerry (LaRue) Daake; sister-in-law, Sylvia Daake; and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
