Eileen Rae Roth, age 91, passed away Feb. 3, 2023, in Sebeka, Minnesota, following a struggle with pulmonary issues. She was born in Milford on Oct. 29, 1931, to Clarence and Ada Stutzman.
Following her marriage to Maurice Roth on Sept. 18, 1949, they farmed near Dorchester, where they were blessed with three sons, Steven, Brian and Clark. In 1959, the family moved north of Staples, Minnesota, and began their farming career.
Being a partner in this farming endeavor and being a homemaker was important to Eileen. She wanted to be assured that she would be with her children, grandchildren,and all relatives and friends in Heaven someday. She helped guide her grandchildren in many ways, including personally creating books on tape, teaching them to make cutout gingerbread men, and raising chickens, garden produce, flowers and making excellent raised donuts, potato salad and strawberry jam.
She served as president of the Women's Auxiliary at Leader Mennonite Church and later at Thomastown Covenant Church, put in many years teaching Sunday School, volunteering at Bible School and leading youth groups. She was a quilter, and canner, a prayer warrior, historian and keeper of family memories. Eileen, collected angels and she was an angel to her family and friends.
Surviving are Steve and Donna Roth of Wadena, Minnesota, and their family, Brian and Nancy Roth of Verndale, Minnesota, and their family, and Clark and Theresa Roth of Braddock, North Dakota, and their family. This includes eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; sibling and spouses, Willis and Kathy Stutzman, of Milford, Sharon Stutzman of Lincoln, and Jerry and Mary Stutzman of Peoria, Arizona; sister-in-law, Mary Roth of Milford; brother-in-law, Ken and Vada Roth, of Dorchester; and many other relatives and friends who will miss her gentle spirit, but they can rest assured that she now in the caring arms of her Savior.
Eileen, was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Roth, on Feb. 8, 2022; her parents, Clarence and Ada Stutzman; parents-in-law, Amos and Phoebe Roth; brother, Lowell Stutzman; sister, Delores and husband Enos Nisly; brothers-in-law, Richard Roth and Norman Roth and wife Carley Roth; sisters-in-law, Erma and Enos Nisly and Geraldine and husband Richard Roth; and grandson, Trent Roth.
