Five new COVID deaths

Seward County's outbreak of coronavirus exposure continued for another week and, for the first time in months, residents in the county have died of COVID-related illness.

Four Corners Health Department confirmed 159 cases of coronavirus for the week of Nov. 14-20, bringing the county's total to 1,143. Of those cases, 324 have come since Nov. 6.

Four Corners officials confirmed five of the six COVID-related deaths in the district reported on Nov. 20 came from Seward County. All of those residents were in their 60s or older, and four of the five had been hospitalized.

Seward County residents have now accounted for eight of the 27 COVID-related deaths in the Four Corners district.

As of the Nov. 20 report, there have been 2,931 confirmed cases in the district. Eight hundred eight of those came within two weeks and 378 were confirmed Nov. 14-20.
