A suicide prevention training session will be Friday, Feb. 7, from noon to 1 p.m. at Seward Memorial Hospital’s third level meeting room. This presentation equips people to recognize the warning signs of suicide, know how to offer hope and know how to get help and save a life. RSVP was required.
The Seward Memorial Library will host “Just for Fun Fridays” every Friday from 1:30 – 3 p.m. This program is designed for adults. First and third Fridays of the month, card games; second and fourth Fridays, Bingo; fifth Friday – patrons’ choice between cards or Bingo.
Cloy "Dr. Dipp" Stutzman will share painting knowledge during a seminar Saturday, Feb. 8, at 9 a.m. at Seward Lumber. Stutzman has been painting for over 40 years. Doughnuts, coffee and juice will be served.
Jeff Barnes from Humanities Nebraska will tell the story of William Frederick Cody, better known as Buffalo Bill, on Sunday, Feb. 9, at 2 p.m. at the Seward Memorial Library. Follow his life from the days he spent as an Indian scout, as a hunting guide for the rich and famous and finally, as the creator of “Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show.”
A storm spotter training session is scheduled Monday, Feb. 10, from 6 – 7 p.m. at the Seward County Extension office, 322 S. 14th. The training is free and open to the public.
Visitation for Stanley Roebke will be today, Feb. 7, from 2-8 p.m. at Volzke Funeral Home in Seward. The family will greet friends from 6:30-8 p.m. His funeral service will be tomorrow, Feb. 8, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward. Interment will follow at Seward Cemetery.
Visitation for Norma Stutzman will be Sunday, Feb. 9, from noon to 5 p.m. at Lauber Funeral Home in Friend. The funeral service will be Monday, Feb. 10, at 10:30 a.m. at Milford Mennonite Church, with interment at 11:30 a.m. at Milford Mennonite Cemetery.
