Interstate crash kills two

Two men were killed in a single-vehicle crash March 31 near mile marker 381 on Interstate 80.

At approximately 3:15 a.m. on Thursday, March 31, the Seward County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the crash.

The preliminary investigation shows that a tractor-trailer occupied by two people was traveling westbound on I-80. The driver lost control, causing the tractor-trailer to overturn. Road conditions are expected to be a factor.

The tractor-trailer was occupied by Sergey Korotash, 38, of Sacramento, California, and Mikhail Tarbeev, 41, of Carmichael, California. Both men were pronounced deceased on the scene.

The accident is being investigated by the Seward County Sheriff’s Office and Nebraska State Patrol. Milford Police Department, Seward Police Department and Milford Fire and Rescue responded to the crash.
