Janet Elaine Stutzman was born Nov. 12, 1957, to Leonard and Elaine (Wacker) Pearson in Lincoln.
She attended Seward High School, graduating in 1976. On April 5, 1977, Janet was united in marriage to Floyd Stutzman, Jr., in Seward. Janet helped Floyd farm and raise livestock. She loved being a mother and helping take care of her grandkids. In her free time, she enjoyed puzzles, playing cards, raising Sheltie dogs and doing craft projects. She helped start the Middle Creek Mavericks 4-H club and was a 4-H horse superintendent for more years then anyone can count. She especially enjoyed attending her grandkids sporting events and school activities. Janet passed away Aug. 10, 2024, in Lincoln, at the age of 66.
She is survived by her husband, Floyd Stutzman, Jr. of Pleasant Dale; children, April (Greg) Smith of Pleasant Dale, Kelly Riley of Minden, and Tracy (Brandon) Crook of Garland; grandchildren, Katie Smith, Colton Riley, Ceirra Riley, Katelyn Crook and Callee Crook; brothers, Orville (Joan) Pearson of Seward, Keith (Sheila) Pearson of Vermillion, South Dakota and Earl Pearson of Pleasant Dale. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Elaine Pearson.
A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, Aug. 24, from 5 – 9 p.m. at the Garland American Legion. Arrangements by Volzke Funeral Home.
