Joyce Ann (Brock) Boss passed away at her memory care facility in Aurora, Colorado on Aug. 11, 2024.
Joyce was born Nov. 22, 1938, in Omaha, to Mose and Ella (Manzer) Weston. At age seven, she and her two sisters, Joanne and Janet, were adopted by Mildred and Eugene Brock of Tecumseh. Joyce graduated from Tecumseh High School, where she was awarded the Johnson County Centennial Queen. At the age of 19, she married Robert R. Chard. They were married for 16 months before Robert passed away.
She attended Kearney State Teachers College, where she graduated with a degree in teaching. Joyce met Harry Boss, Jr., while attending college and they were married May 28, 1961. They were married for 61 years before the passing of Harry. Joyce resided in Hayes Center, Milford, Aurora and Lincoln before moving to Elizabeth, Colorado, where she was close to her family. Joyce enjoyed attending her children's athletic events, playing cards, gardening, sewing, being with her sisters, and feeding all of the wildlife. She loved to have fun, which included a good margarita now and then.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Boss; sons, Mitch Boss and Mike (Amy) Boss; grandchildren, Dakotah Boss, Trevor (Maddie) Boss, Jake (Jordan) Boss and Mason Boss; and great-grandchildren, Carter and Blake Boss. Joyce was a believer in Christ, a loyal wife, an exceptional mother, hard worker and steward to all animals, including the 19 dogs she homed through the years. She will be greatly missed by everyone.
A graveside Celebration of Life will be conducted at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery on Saturday, Sept, 28, at 10:30 a.m. with a lunch reception to follow.
