Kathleen “Kathy” D. Lundstrom, age 74, of Stromsburg, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2022, at Bryan LGH West in Lincoln.

Kathy was born Feb. 5, 1948, in Alliance, Ohio, to Curtis and Genevieve L. (Soukup) Lab. She attended Milford Public School and graduated from Sidney High School. On March 11, 1967, she was united in marriage to James M. Lundstrom. To this union, four sons were born. The family lived in Stromsburg. Kathy worked in the medical records office at Annie Jeffrey Memorial Hospital for many years. She also worked at York General Hospital and the Midwest Covenant Home. She retired in 2011. She enjoyed cooking, bowling, planting flowers and spending time with her friends and family.

Kathy was her sons’ biggest fan and could be found at all of their sporting events and activities, always the first to arrive with a video camera in hand. She was an amazing cook and enjoyed making her family’s favorite meals. Later in life, her passion belonged to her eight grandchildren who referred to her as Gam-gams or Mimi. Setting aside time for every grandchild was a priority and she had a special bond with each of them. She was their number one supporter and made it to all of their events that she could. Kathy was a mother figure and grandmother to many throughout her life. Her home and kitchen were open to her children’s friends and then her grandchildren’s friends. She was a devoted and loving wife to Jim and spent countless hours caring for him during his illness. Kathy was a devout member of the United Methodist Church, loving wife, and dedicated mother, grandmother and friend.

Survivors include her four sons, Robert Lundstrom and son Shayden of Stromsburg, Craig (Kathy) Lundstrom and children Cael and Brexton of Stromsburg, Steve (Angie) Lundstrom of Elkhorn and children Peyton (Nick) Schreiter and Eli of Lincoln and Ben of Omaha, Eric (Shannon) Lundstrom and daughters Addison and Sloan of Gretna; sisters-in-law, Teri Lab of Columbus and Elaine (Tom) Hetzer of Dallas; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
