Mildred Irene Stahly was born Feb. 5, 1930, in Milford, to Harry and Edna (Burkey) Rediger, the oldest of two children, and passed away Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020, at Tabatha Journey House in Lincoln at the age of 90 years, 10 months and 14 days.

Mildred, “Mim,” as she was affectionately known, lived in Milford and attended Milford Elementary School after which she went on to attend Milford High School, graduating with the class of 1947. Mim was employed at the Milford 5 Cent to $1 Store and later at Rediger Chevrolet Co. as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed working with the public and meeting people. Mildred was united in marriage to Richard V. Stahly on Aug. 26, 1951. To this union, a son, James, was born in 1958, at which time they moved to the family farm. Dick and Mildred would have celebrated together their 69th wedding anniversary on Aug. 26, 2020. Mim committed her life to Christ and was a long-time member of Grace Missionary Church. She taught Sunday school for many years and had a great influence in the lives of many young children. Her greatest desire was to share the love of Jesus with others. Mim especially enjoyed sending cards, notes and letters to a multitude of family and friends. She also loved digging in the dirt of her garden and flower beds.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Carolyn Stahly, Milford; three grandchildren and spouses, Nate and Mandie Drege, Fargo, North Dakota, Jordan and Megan Shockman, of LaMoure, North Dakota, and Caleb and Paige Stahly of Milford, six great-grandchildren, Ellie, Becklyn, Branson, Rowan, Adley and Abel and two more on the way.
