This year's Best of Show at the Christmas Festival parade Nov. 30 was the historic M29C Weasel from World War II. The vehicle is fully restored and was driven by Dave Geis. The entry was sponsored by the Nebraska National Guard Museum

French friends stop in Seward over summer

Two very special St. Lo, France Rotarians, Frances Hook and Michel Penlae, came to visit Seward and the Seward Rotary Club from Oct. 21-24. They flew into Chicago, rented a car and drove straight to Seward to experience a “taste of Nebraska.” Rotarians Jon and Bonnie Kruse were their hosts for the four-day visit.

TODAY - Broasted chicken

The Seward VFW will host a broasted chicken supper the first Monday of every month from 5 – 7 p.m. Donations help support all of the group’s projects. The public is welcome.

TOMORROW - Pickleball

Indoor pickleball will begin Tuesday, Dec. 3, and will continue every Tuesday through March at the E-Free Church. Newbies can come at 5 p.m. to learn how to play and everyone is welcome. Contact Jodi Hughes @ jhughes62@hotmail.com for more information.

TOMORROW - Tai Chi Tuesday

Join Tai Chi classes on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. at the Milford Senior Center. Enhance your muscle strength, flexibility, balance and aerobic conditioning.

THURSDAY - Free movie

A free movie is scheduled at the Seward Memorial Library on Thursday, Dec. 5, at 1 p.m., featuring a 2024 American disaster film. Feel free to bring snacks and a drink. Visit sewardlibrary.org for more information.

FUNERAL SERVICES

CHILCOAT, Roberta

Visitation for Roberta Chilcoat will be today, Dec. 2, from 4-8 p.m. at Volzke Funeral Home in Seward. A gathering of family and friends will be from 6:30 -8 p.m. The memorial service will be Tuesday, Dec. 3, at 11 a.m. at Living Word Lutheran Church. Committal will be at a later date.
