Phyllis Elaine Philson was born March 23, 1931, on a farm near Milford, to David and Anna (Stauffer) Hershburger, youngest of seven children, and passed away Friday, March 17, 2023, in Seward, at the age of 91 years, 11 months and 22 days.

As a young girl, Phyllis attended a country school near Ruby, and later was a 1949 graduate of Milford High School. Phyllis accepted Christ as her personal savior and was baptized at East Fairview Mennonite Church. In her early years, Phyllis also spent some time as a Bible school educator in Red Lake, Canada and Chicago. She was employed with Elgin Watch Factory in Lincoln and later for Tenneco in Seward, retiring in 1993.

On Aug. 20, 1954, she was united in marriage to Raymond “Dale” Philson in Milford and were blessed with three children, Debra, Beth and David. Her faith was her priority in life and was often called, “The Prayer Warrior” of the family. She was a member of Beth-El Community Church.

Survivors include her children and spouses, Debra and Don Masten, Loomis, Beth and Darrell Miller, Milford, David and Beth Philson, Elmwood; nine grandchildren and spouses, Nathan and Alisha Masten, Andrew and Savannah Masten, Annah and Joshua Geyer, Kelsey and Rob Salistean, Matthew and Lucinda Miller, Noah Philson, Elijah and Anastasia Philson, Micah Philson, Josiah Philson; 14 great-grandchildren, Kaydence, Chandy, Lydia, Taytam, Cam and Joseph Masten, Claire and Gabriel Geyer, Ayla, Bram and Hannah Salistean, Mia Miller, John Philson and James Philson; brother-in-law, David Hershberger, Seward; sisters-in-law, Darlene Hershberger, Sun City, Arizona, Vanda Philson, Seward, amd Barbara Montgomery, Caldwell; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, David, Sr., and Anna Hershberger; her husband, Raymond “Dale;” parents-in-law, Ray and Hannah Philson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harlan and Elizabeth Hershberger, Reaford and Vira Hershberger and Roy Hersberger; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathryn and Elwin Friesen and Mary and Gerald Stutzman; sister-in-law, MaryAnn Hershberger; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Carl and Wilma Plock and Rex Philson.

The funeral service was March 21 at the Beth-El Community Church in Milford with internment following the service at Milford Mennonite Cemetery. Arrangements by Lauber Funeral and Cremation Services.
