Going 'Up'

One-year-old Linden Kock was the grand prize winner at the annual Rotary Club costume contest, held Oct. 29 at the bandshell. Linden was dressed as Carl from the movie "Up," complete with glasses, hat and balloons. See more contest pictures in next week's Independent.

Election less than week away

When Nebraskans cast their votes this fall on six ballot measures, it will come after a historic year of petitioning that included gathering more than 700,000 valid signatures seeking ballot access.

MEINBERG, Justin

A celebration of life for Justin Meinberg will be today, Oct. 30, at 3 p.m. at Crossbridge Christian Church in Lincoln. A private graveside service is planned.
