Betty M. Chapman, age 94, of Milford, passed away Nov. 6, 2024. She was born Aug. 17, 1930, in Bennet, to Zephaniah and Mamie (Jensen) Holdsworth.
She was raised on a farm in Bennet until she married Danny Chapman on Jan. 18, 1959. They moved to Lincoln before settling in Milford until their death. From this union, their son, Gordon, was born. After leaving her state job in Lincoln, she worked at Southeast Community College in Milford from 1969 to 1995. Betty enjoyed riding horses and staying active playing softball and bowling until she physically couldn't any longer. She will be remembered for loving the outdoors and gardening. Above everything else, she adored her grandson, Dylan, who was the light of her life.
Betty is survived by her son, Gordon, and life partner, Jan; grandson, Dylan; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Danny; her parents; siblings, Harry, Ralph, Charles, George, Frank and Francis; two nephews, Joe and Larry, three nieces, Donna, Carol, and Sally Holdsworth; and her cherished cat, Dodo.
A memorial service will be Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 10 a.m. at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home with inurnment at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Lincoln.
