Cloy E. Roth, 90, of Grand Island, died Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Tabitha at Prairie Commons.
xOn June 21, 1957, Cloy was united in marriage to Ora Roth and had five sons. Their 61 years of marriage were filled with working, traveling, raising a family, and overflowed with love. Ora left this earth for her Heavenly home on April 18, 2019.
Cloy enjoyed work and had many jobs, including selling milk equipment, chicken and turkey farming, preaching both at the Wood River and Milford Mennonite churches, used car salesman, feed salesman, fertilizer salesman, realtor as owner of Corner Realty, aerial spraying manager, hog farmer, retirement facility manager and truck driver. He finally retired at the age of 86. Cloy and Delores Leichty were married in the sight of God and their families on July 18, 2020. He loved to help people in all situations and never met a person he considered a stranger. He was always concerned about a person’s personal relationship with God.
Cloy is survived by Delores Leichty; sons, Tom (Crystal), Laurel (Deb), Al (Rhonda), Tony (Jodi); 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren with at least two more on the way; brothers, Lonnie (Janice), Jerrel (Judy), Dave (Sue), Phil (Connie); brothers/sisters-in-law: Janice Oswald, Ila (Larry) Kremer, Nancy Roth, Lonnie Roth, Carolyn Miller, Joe Roth, Sharon (Roger) Lehman, Leonard Roth; and many nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Verda Roth; wife, Ora; son, Deryl Roth; brother, Lyle (Nettie) Roth; brothers/sisters-in-law: Herb (Jeanene) Roth, Gale Oswald, Roger Roth, Marietta Roth, Larry Miller; and nieces: Casey Roth and Audrey Roth.
The family would like to thank the staff at Tabitha at Prairie Commons and Tabitha Hospice for their care of Cloy the last several years.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 21, at the Wood River Mennonite Church. Burial will follow at the Wood River Mennonite Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 – 8 p.m. Thursday at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family for later designation.
