COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Board of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month, meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Board of Equalization meetings are held the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month starting at 8:30 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. MARCH CLAIMS ALLOWED MARCH 24, 2015 The Seward County Board of Commissioners convened on March 3, 2015 at 8:30 a.m. Present: Chairman Roger E. Glawatz; Members Mike Luebbe, Diana Garske, Gene Gausman, Whitney Fleischman; County Clerk Sherry Schweitzer. Wess Robotham of Eastern Nebraska CASA and Shannon Robotham of Epworth Village updated the Commissioners on activities of their organizations. Officials were present for their monthly meeting with Commissioners. Approve the minutes of February 24 & 25, 2015. The Commissioners reported on their activities the past week. Accepted the insurance payment from NIRMA for the 2003 Cornhusker Rock Pup Trailer. Approved the Surplus Property Disposal Report from the Road Dept. Jeff Fleischman of the Road Dept. was present to discuss quotes for leasing a tractor for the Road Dept. Allowed Patrick Checketts of Kiwanis, to place a sign on the SW corner of the courthouse lawn March 13-16, 2015 for one of their events. Shannon Chesnutt, Clerk of the Village of Beaver Crossing discussed and accepted the insurance reimbursement for the Road Dept. from the May 2014 tornado. Held a public hearing and approved a liquor license request of Western Oil II D/B/A Speedee Mart 2737. Held a special claims day for two vendors. CAT Financial Commercial Account EQ $18,781.23 Kasseburg Canine Training Center EQ $ 9,000.00 Sheriff Yocum discussed Sheriff Recognition Awards. Adopted a Resolution allowing Farmers and Merchants Bank to substitute pledged securities. Approved the Asbestos Removal quote for the old Extension Office. Accepted the Sheriff Fees and Mileage for January 2015. Discussed abandoned cemeteries, in particular First Methodist Abandoned Cemetery. Briefly discussed a committee for the Justice Center.
