COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Board of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month, meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Board of Equalization meetings are held the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month starting at 8:30 a.m. The Board of Commissioners will meet at 8:00 a.m. on April 25, 2014 to approve April Claims. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. MAY CLAIMS ALLOWED MAY 27, 2014 April 15, 2014 The Seward County Board of Commissioners convened on April 15, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. Present: Chairman Darrell Miller; Members: Mike Luebbe, Diana Garske, Mary Koci; County Clerk: Sherry Schweitzer. Absent: Member: Scott Stuhr. Approved the minutes of April 8, 2014. Mike Janssen, Building and Grounds Supt, Russ Daehling, Highway Supt. and Sherry Schweitzer, County Clerk updated the Commissioners on activities of their offices. Awarded a bid to Nebraska Equipment for a full length mowing shredder. Awarded the bid for the Denton Road Construction Project in P Precinct to Commercial Construction, Inc. Approved 2 right of way requests in K precinct. The Commissioners reported on their activities of the past week. Opened bids for mowing of abandoned cemeteries which will be awarded next week. Signed documents in regard to renewal of the Seward County Health Insurance Plan. Adopted a resolution in regard to pledged securities. Accepted the County Treasurer’s 3rd Quarter Investment Report. Dave Stahr was present to discuss wireless routers and other computer matters in the Courthouse. Awarded the bid for the Seward North Bridge Construction & Grading Project in B Precinct to K2 Construction, Inc. Jonathan Jank, Director of Seward County Economic Development Corp. (SCEDC), along with Charlie Schumacher, Chairman of the SCEDC Board, were present to give the semi-annual report of the organization’s activities. Suggested the use of a 2% cost of living raise for Seward County Employees. Larry Goldberg of Goldberg Group Architects (GGA) was present to give information about the proposed Justice Center. Authorized the Chairman to sign a contract with Goldberg Group Architects for a proposed Justice Center. Adopted the agenda for April 22, 2014.
