COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Boards of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month, meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Board of Equalization meetings are held the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month starting at 8:30 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. APRIL CLAIMS ALLOWED APRIL 25, 2017 The Seward County Board of Commissioners convened on April 4, 2017, at 8:30 a.m. Present: Chairman: Roger E. Glawatz Members: John Culver, Whitney Fleischman, Eugene Gausman, Diana Garske County Clerk: Sherry Schweitzer Officials were present for their monthly meeting with the Commissioners. Jonathan Jank, Executive Director of the Seward County Chamber Development and Partnership updated the Commissioners on the activities of his organization. Approved the proclamation declaring Public Transit Week April 9-15, 2017, as presented by Jeff Baker, Public Transit Director. Authorized chairman to sign Amendment to the Food Service Contract with CBM Managed Services as presented by Maria Hatfield, Detention Center Director. Approved the application for a Special Designated Liquor license for Bottle Rocket Brewery for the Big Blue Mile Shootout June 3rd as presented by Gerald Homp and Jason Berry. Authorized chairman to sign 2 Proposals for Engineering Services from Speece Lewis Engineers presented by Georgia Stockley, Interim Highway Superintendent. Awarded the culvert bids and rental rate bids. Authorized the Road Department to employ a seasonal Sign Tech position and hire a full time temporary Administrative Assistant. Approved a Lease Agreement for a Caterpillar Mini Excavator. Approved a Juvenile Services Grant presented by Casey Tiemann of the County Attorney’s Office. Approved the minutes of March 28, 2017. Accepted Sheriff Fee & Mileage Report for February 2017. Approved the quote from Rumery Lawn and Landscaping for landscaping at the Justice Center, presented by Mike Janssen, Superintendent of Buildings & Grounds. Approved 2 Change Requests for the Justice Center, presented by Dean Uhlenberg of Beckenhauer Construction, Inc. Fleischman gave an update on the Justice Center.
