COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Boards of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month, meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Board of Equalization meetings are held the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month starting at 8:30 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. SEPTEMBER CLAIMS ALLOWED SEPTEMBER 27, 2016 The Seward County Board of Commissioners convened on August 16, 2016, at 9:00 a.m. Present: Chairman: Roger E. Glawatz Members: Mike Luebbe, Diana Garske, Eugene Gausman, Whitney Fleischman County Clerk: Sherry Schweitzer Approved 2 requests by Jonathan Jank, Executive Director of the Seward County Chamber Development Partnership to use the Courthouse lawn for the Partnership’s Christmas activities. Approved minutes from August 9, 2016. Authorized the Chairman to sign the Service Agreement with Tech Friends for Inmate Banking Software. Commissioners Fleischman and Glawatz gave an update on the Justice Center. Michaela Tuttle, HR Director and Joe Yocum, Sheriff recommended a new Evaluation Form for County use. Approved the bid by Lancaster County for the paving portion of the Seward County West Denton Road project. Approved a Proposal from JEO Consulting Group, Inc. for Professional Engineering Services relating to the Bridge near Staplehurst over the Big Blue River on Raymond Road. Approved a Contractor’s Application and Certificate for the 18th & Pioneers Road Dam Project. Van Springer, Representative for the Seward County Agricultural Society and Bob Blevins, representing the Seward County Fire District were present to discuss the request for levy allocation. Dennis Richters, a constituent, was present to give information on comparison of Road Costs. Joe Yocum, Sheriff, and Sergeant Dave Wood, Civil Processor were present to give information about Distress Warrant Collections. Commissioners reported on their activities for the week.
