Doris Darlene (Miller) Liakos passed peacefully Saturday July 2, 2022, at 92 years of age. She resided at The Villas at Sunny Acres in Thornton, Colorado, at the time.
Doris was born Oct. 19, 1929, in Milford, to Silas J. Miller and Christine (Anderson) Miller. Her many siblings included Charles, Arlene, John, Don, Marion and Lonnie, as well as nine others from Silas’ previous marriage before his first wife passed.
She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas George Liakos, on July 1, 1986. She is survived by her sister, Marion Owen, and brother, Lonnie Miller, as well as her daughter, Rebecca, son-in-law Jeff, and grandson Aidan. Doris achieved a Master’s Degree in library science and spent her career as an educator, librarian and champion for the love of learning. She was dedicated to helping others, and her kind, courageous spirit will be dearly missed.
A memorial service was July 10 with interment at Pleasant View Cemetery in Milford. Memorial contributions are suggested to World Vision (worldvision.org), a cause close to her heart, or the Parkinson’s Foundation (parkinson.org), to help others affected by the disease.
