In the season opener for both teams, Milford swept Seward volleyball 25-15, 25-11, 25-22 Aug. 28 in Seward.
Milford Coach Emily Restau said the Eagles showed passion and love for each other throughout the match.
She said they served aggressively and mixed up serves well, keeping Seward out of system.
“We have been working on a few key things with our hitting lately that are making huge differences as the girls choose to implement these changes,” Restau said.
Senior setter Kylie Jakub broke the school’s career assist record and finished with 34 for the match.
“She has worked incredibly hard to give our hitters the best ball she can while mixing up our offense to keep our opponent on their toes,” Restau said.
Shayla Rautenberg notched 18 kills and Sydney Burkey added 11.
Up next for Milford was a trip to Wahoo Thursday, Sept. 4. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. The Eagles will open their home schedule Tuesday, Sept. 9, against Fillmore Central starting at 7 p.m.
