Edna F. (Stutzman) Roth was born Sept. 8, 1930, at home in Beaver Crossing, to Bert and Elma (Roth) Stutzman. She was the third of nine children. She passed away peacefully July 5, 2022, at the age of 91 at Seward Memorial Hospital.
As a young girl, Edna attended District 16 County School in Beaver Crossing. She accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized in her youth at West Fairview Mennonite Church. She later became a member of East Fairview Mennonite and Beth El Community Church in Milford. She was united in marriage to Willard Roth on June 17, 1960, and to this union were born two children, Karen and Marvin.
As a young wife and mother, Edna was active in teaching children’s Sunday School, VBS and GMSA. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling, embroidery and quilting. Edna loved gardening, canning, camping and books on tape. She was a faithful volunteer at Et Cetera for many years. Edna was also a wonderful cook, hosting many family get-togethers and enjoying time with her children, grandchildren and step-grandchildren.
Edna is survived by her son, Marvin and Stacey Roth; grandchildren, Michelle and Eric Talbert, Mason and Corbin Roth, Milford, Nathan and Breannah Roth and Joleen Roth, Dorchester, Zachary Roth, Omaha, Georgia Roth, Beaver Crossing; step-grandchildren, Devin Hergenrader, Lincoln, Bentley Masek, Lincoln, Bristol Masek, Lincoln, Dylan and Claire Hergenrader, Lincoln, Cody, Sara, Bradley and Theodore Hergenrader, Lincoln, Cole Hergenrader, Milford; daughter, Karen (Roth) Heater, Beaver Crossing; granddaughter, Kristina Guthrie, Milford; sister, Ruth Erb, Shickley; sisters-in-law, Veryl Stutzman, Seward, Joyce Stutzman, Milford, Barb Stutzman, Superior, brothers-in-law, Milt and Wilma Roth, Bonnie Roth.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Elma Stutzman; father and mother-in-law, Albert and Stella Roth; her husband, Willard; brothers, Cloy, Roy, Stan and Dennis Stutzman; her sisters, Luella Schweitzer, Phyllis Troyer and Lois Schweitzer; brothers-in-law, Burdette Roth, Darold Roth, Arnold Roth, Merlin Roth, Bill Nitzsche, Cleve Schweitzer, Gerald Schweitzer, Kenny Troyer and Alvin Erb.
The funeral service was July 9 at the Beth El Community Church, Milford. Pallbearers were Michelle Talbert, Eric Talbert, Zachary Roth, Nathen Roth, Mason Roth and Corbin Roth. Condolences may be left for the family online at www.lauberfh.com.
