Help keep schools, businesses open

Posted

We can help keep schools and businesses open. We can and we need to do the work now. The work is to alter the super spreading events that are keeping the COVID-19 virus moving in our communities. These clusters help the “positive” to spread among all those in attendance at events happening in our families and communities. When we work together, we can help keep schools and businesses open. We can help stop the virus from spreading.

We can help by avoiding 3 Cs. Avoid Crowded Places. Avoid Confined Spaces. Avoid Close Contact. And of course, wearing a mask in public. We Americans love our independence and individual freedom, but now is the time to practice and demonstrate social responsibility to help our communities as well as our own family members.

Masks are easy for students in school, and it appears the virus is not spreading in the school rooms if they follow the rules. It appears the gatherings after they leave the classrooms are of concern. Students need to continue to wear their masks, check their distance and wash their hands throughout the day as needed.

We can help. As socially responsible adults, we are role models. We need to wear a mask in public, in public buildings, shopping and getting together. Masks need to be worn in super spreading events like church activities, funerals, weddings and reunions. Responsible mask wearing and following the 3 Cs is very important so we can meet for sporting events, markets, town “fests” and other community gatherings.

We can also help the public health department with understanding and politeness when the employees are calling us. The callers are trying to trace the “positive” cases. They are asking for the important information so the virus spread can be stopped. We need to be part of the solution. We can help.
