After the recent announcement of Jonathan Jank stepping down after 10 years serving as president and CEO of the Seward County Chamber and Development Partnership (SCCDP), he will begin a new job as an economic development consultant with Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD), the largest electric utility in the state of Nebraska serving all or parts of 84 (of 93) counties.
“I’m tremendously grateful for the past 14 years serving Seward County in various leadership roles,” Jank said. “With NPPD, I will continue serving Seward County and also 83 other counties statewide in a new capacity through their Economic Development Department.”
Jank will replace Rick Nelsen who is retiring at the end of April 2026 after almost 30 years with NPPD. Jank and his family will still be living in and working out of Seward County. As an Economic Development Consultant, Jank will be traveling the state to support growing the statewide economy and he will continue to actively assist Seward County through partnering with local leaders on future economic development projects.
“We appreciate the opportunity to continue working with Jonathan in a different economic development position,” said Megan Kahler, chairperson of the SCCDP Board of Directors. “We wish Jonathan the best in his new job at NPPD and look forward to collaborating with him there.”
Jank will continue as president and CEO at SCCDP through April 12, 2026. The SCCDP Board has begun the search process for identifying the organization’s next president and CEO.
