A country music video filmed in part just outside of Milford last October and featuring several local residents was nominated as one of this year’s videos of the year.

Jason Aldean’s “Let Your Boys Be Country” music video that was filmed in part on Molly and David Dickinson’s property just outside of Milford saw critical success and was nominated for CMT’s video of the year. Other scenes of Milford residents were filmed on family property just outside of Decatur, said Molly Dickinson.

Seventeen local residents took part in the video’s filming, and 14 of them  appeared in the final cut product

“The director, Shaun Silva, is a friend of mine, and he was nominated for four CMT videos this year,” Dickinson said.

“All of the local people that we recruited for the filming did a great job, and the crew was very happy with the way things went. We did 10 scenes in less than 24 hours. I think there’s  a good chance they’ll  be  back sometime in the future.”

The CMT music awards show will  be aired Sunday, March 7, on CBS beginning at 7 p.m.
