Milford Post 171’s stay in the B2 area tournament was a short one. The team lost to Ashland 15-0 July 25 and to Wahoo 12-9 July 26, ending the season with a 3-15 record.

Ashland pitching held Milford without a hit in the four-inning, run-rule shortened game. However, two, Braden Friedli and Zackary Parra, reached by being hit and Westin DeLong drew a walk.

The offense came to life against Wahoo, recording 10 hits and scoring nine runs. Wahoo started the scoring with four in the second, and Milford answered with two each in the second and third to tie the score.

Wahoo put up four more in the fourth, to which Milford responded with three in the fourth and another in the fifth to tie the score again.

Wahoo scored two each in the sixth and seventh, and Milford put up one in the sixth but couldn’t catch back up.

Cole Stutzman, Quinn Zegers and Trayton Nelson had two hits each, with Stutzman, Friedli and Gabe Mach each hitting a double.

Stutzman pitched 5.2 innings and struck out four. Nelson pitched the rest of the game in relief.
