Milford FCCLA heads to nationals in STAR events

Milford Family, Career and Community Leaders of America members are headed to California this summer.

Students presented their STAR events April 3-5 at the FCCLA State Leadership Conference, with many qualifying for the national contest.

STAR is Students Taking Action with Recognition.

State champions and runners up qualified for the national competition to be held in June and July in San Diego.

Sophia Birch – Career Investigation Level 3, state champion;

Natalie Nutzman – Interpersonal Communication Level 1, state champion;

Aubrey Burton, Kayla Wilken and Nevaeh Spurling – National Programs in Action Level 1, state champion

Sadie Frazier – Nutrition and Wellness Level 1, state champion;

Stephen Vance – Teach and Train Level 1, state champion;

Mackenzie Watenpaugh and Jaidyn Bell – Professional Presentation Level 2, state runner-up;

Logan Hershberger – Baking and Pastry, third;

Mylie Svoboda – Chapter Service Project Portfolio Level 1, third;

Savannah Boettner – Event Management Level 1, third;

Cassidy June – Job Interview Level 3, fourth

Electa Restau – Professional Presentation Level 1, sixth
