Milford still seeks first summer win

It’s been a tough start to the 2026 season for the Post 171 Milford seniors. The team lost to Friend 18-8 June 8, to Malcolm 15-0 June 9 and to Hebron 19-4 June 10.

The score was tied 8-8 after the third ininng against Friend, but the Jaguars put up 10 runs in the fourth, and Milford could not answer.

Wesley Walker was 2-2 with three RBIs for Milford. Graydon Meredith-Walker doubled and drove in one, as well. Ashton Friedli and Tyler McCullough recorded two RBIs each.

Meredith-Walker also struck out three in three innings in relief of Braden Friedli.

The offense couldn’t get going the next night at Malcolm. Malcolm pitching held the Milford batters hitless in the game, which ended after three inings via the run rule.

Another run-rule shortened game saw Hebron score 12 in the third to finish that contest. Braden Friedli and Boen Schweitzer had two hits apiece for Milford, with Braden Friedli hitting a double, and Schweitzer driving in two runs.

Braden Friedli got the start and struck out six in two innings. Ashton Friedli and Schweitzer also pitched.

Up next for Milford (0-6) was a trip to Sutton Wednesday, June 17, for a 6 p.m. game.
