A tough summer continued for the Milford Post 171 baseball team last week. The team went 0-3 in its games before the July 4 holiday, falling to Hebron 18-3 June 20, to Tri County Meridian 16-1 June 30 and to David City 16-1 July 2.
Milford finished with four hits in the loss to Hebron, singles by Graydon Meredith-Walker, Braden Friedli, Boen Schweitzer and Tobias Schweitzer. Friedli and Wesley Walker drove in runs for Post 171.
The game ended early via the run rule.
The next night, Milford traveled to Daykin to play TCM, which scored 12 in the second inning to put the game out of reach.
Friedli had both hits for Milford, a single and a double, and drove in Meredith-Walker in the fourth inning.
On July 2, David City pitching held Milford in check, allowing just one hit, a single by Ashton Friedli, who scored on an RBI by Braden Friedli.
DC batters recorded 16 hits in the game and no strikeouts.
Up next for Milford (0-11) was Lincoln Lutheran July 6 at home, a trip to Wymore/Diller-Odell Thursday, July 9, a trip to Dwight Tuesday, July 14, and a trip to Osceola to play SOS Wednesday, July 15. Districts start Friday, July 24.
