Schools start late

Because of road conditions this morning, Seward, Centennial and Milford public schools announced a two-hour late start today.

Project just around corner

Representatives from the Nebraska Department of Transportation answer questions from Seward residents at an open house March 19 at the Lied Senior Center in Seward. The event was a time for residents to learn more about the Highway 15 reconstruction project, set to begin April 1. An estimated 200 people attended over the two-hour time frame.

ProStart makes nationals

After making it past regionals, state and then winning a final competition in Omaha, the Milford High School ProStart team will get to represent Team Nebraska in Baltimore at the end of April for nationals.

Mallory Gregory, FCCLA and ProStart teacher at MHS, said the Milford team competed in the culinary section of the competition and developed a menu that includes a starter, entree and dessert with specified portion sizes for each.

Too cold to play

Because of feels-like temps and extreme cold conditions, the Seward baseball game scheduled for yesterday afternoon was postponed.

Cold doesn't slow Clippers

In spite of cold and wind, the Malcolm Clippers took the field against Ralston yesterday and held on for a 7-6 win. Ralston scored three in the bottom of the seventh and had the tying run on base when Mason Wisnieski struck out the final Ram to end the game. Maddox Meyer was 3-4 to lead the Malcolm offense.
