With summer coming to an end, the Utica Days celebration is back and better than ever, and will be going on from Friday, July 31, through Sunday, Aug. 2.
The celebration begins on July 31 with kids games in the pool at 4 p.m., the first annual mini golf open, and Karaoke with Jess at 9 p.m.
On Saturday, Aug. 1, the main day of the celebration, the day kicks off at 9 a.m. with the Utica car show at the Centennial Public Schools parking lot, a craft fair at the Centennial Public Schools main lobby, and a pickleball tournament going on all day at the tennis courts. At 10 a.m., food trucks, funnel cakes, and a kids tractor pull will be happening at the park. Action in the park will continue at 11 a.m. with bounce houses and a dunk tank, and then at noon, a kids scooter and bike rodeo will take place at the tennis courts.
In the afternoon starting at 1 p.m., kids water fights, put on by the fire department, will take place at the park, and then a parade will go through the town starting at 4 p.m.
In the evening, a cornhole tournament and a pork loin meal cooked by Nathan Baack and served by Centennial FFA will be hosted in the park starting at 6 p.m. The night will wrap up with music by Sam Tomes at the park starting at 7 p.m. and going until 9 p.m.
The celebration continues on Sunday, Aug. 2, with a breakfast hosted at the senior center hosted by the Lions Club starting at 8 a.m., and a coed sand volleyball tournament at the sand volleyball pits near the ball fields also starting at 8 a.m. A coed slow pitch softball tournament will also be held at the ball fields starting at 9 a.m. Utica Days wraps up with a road rally starting at the south ball field parking lot starting at 2 p.m., and a home run derby at the north and south ball fields starting at 3 p.m.
