CITY OF MILFORD APRIL 2, 2024 The following is a condensed form of minutes: A complete copy is on file at the Milford City Hall, 402 1st St., Milford, NE, or on the city’s website: milfordne.gov. The Mayor and Council met in regular session on April 2, 2024, at 7:00 pm. Mayor Kelley called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Present: DeLong, Keib, Freeman, Roth. Nebraska Open Meetings Act requirement met. Agenda approved as submitted. CONSENT AGENDA: Mayor Kelley read the Consent Agenda: a. Approve Minutes: March 5, 2024 b. Approval of Claims: - Totaling $228,641.70 c. Approve Treasurer’s Report for February 2024 d. Reports/Communications filed by Governing Board and City Personnel. e. Approve Application #11 from K2 Construction on the Water Main Improvement Project for payment with city water funds of $451,188.16. f. Approve Street Closing request for Fun Days by the Milford Chamber of Commerce. Approved items on the consent agenda as read. SALARIES: $51,098.24 GENERAL FUND: (See attached) CURRENT BUSINESS: Set special meeting date to approve Webermeier Scholarship recipients. Scheduled 4/23/24 @ 6:30 as the special meeting to approve Webermeier scholarships. Consider Community Betterment recommendations: *Approved the application from Dan Schweitzer for Milford baseball park upgrades not to exceed $48,000.00 for batting cages, scoreboard, electrical and rubber backstops on all 3 fields. *Approved the application from Cami Erb/Recreation Board to purchase new picnic tables for Welch Park ballfield not to exceed $15,000.00. *Approved the application from Danae Plessel/Kiwanis Club for handicap accessible playground equipment at Milford Public School grounds, Elementary for $25,000.00 with the understanding that if a grant is awarded those funds will come back to the Community Betterment account. RESOLUTIONS AND ORDINANCES: ORDINANCE NO 978 – AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MILFORD, NEBRASKA, AMENDING MILFORD MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 1-903 TO CODIFY THE ADOPTION OF A NEW RETIREMENT PLAN FOR EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF MILFORD, NEBRASKA, EFFECTIVE AS OF THE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE.
