COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS AUGUST 26, 2025 Board of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. A meeting will be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 for County Clerk interviews. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. CLAIMS ALLOWED OCTOBER 7, 2025 The Seward County Board of Equalization convened on August 27, 2025 at 8:30 a.m. Present: Chairperson: Misty Ahmic Members: Raegan Hain, Darrell Zabrocki, Ken Schmieding, Scott Pekarek County Clerk: Sherry Schweitzer County Treasurer: Jake Zlatkovsky Approved minutes of August 12, 2025. Held Public Hearing for and approved Vehicle Tax Exemption. Zlatkovsky gave an update of his office. Convened as the Board of Commissioners. Approved Consent Agenda consisting of: Surplus Property Disposal Request for Zoning Dept.; and Authorize Chair to sign Settlement Agreement with Nebraska Intergovernmental Risk Management Assn. (NIRMA) for a claim that occurred on June 6, 2025 with a 2018 Mack Truck and Belly Dump Trailer. Approved claims through August 15, 2025. Highway Supt., Jon Regnier had two department employees give information on a training they recently attended. Gary Jewell was presented as Veteran of the Month. Held Public Hearing for vacation of Johnson Dam Road in A Precinct. The documents needed to approve the new placement of the road will be on the agenda at a later date. Held Public Hearing to Re-zone a parcel in I Precinct. Application was denied. Held Public Hearing for and approved a Conditional Use Permit for a Livestock Feeding Operation in C Precinct. Approved the number of 18 Sworn Deputies for the Seward County Sheriff’s Office. Approved minutes of August 19, 2025. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Approved Short Form Plat in K Precinct. Approved authorizing Chair to sign Region V agreement. Discussions were held on approval of the minutes; approving the Equitable Sharing Agreement and Certification of the Sheriff’s Office; the Sheriff’s Dept. budget; conducting interviews for the County Clerk position on September 10, 2025; and the 2025-2026 fiscal year budget.
