DECEMBER 9, 2025 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Board of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. CLAIMS ALLOWED DECEMBER 30, 2025 The Seward County Board of Equalization convened on December 9, 2025 at 8:30 a.m. Present: Chairperson: Misty Ahmic Members: Raegan Hain, Darrell Zabrocki, Ken Schmieding, Scott Pekarek County Clerk: Brandy Johnson County Assessor: Marilyn Hladky Approved minutes of November 25, 2025. Hladky gave an update of her department. Convened as the Board of Commissioners. Approved minutes of December 2, 2025. Approved Consent Agenda consisting of: November 2025 Fee Reports for County Clerk and Clerk of District Court; Surplus Property Disposal requests for Public Transit and Road/Weed Dept; and two Utility Permits for Norris Public Power. County Attorney, Wendy Elston gave an update of her department. Accepted letter of retirement of Gary Petersen, Emergency Management Director, Effective January 2, 2026. Approved contract with Campbell Cleaning for janitorial services for all three buildings. Approved two contracts with Vanguard Appraisals. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Approved Purchase Order Policy for the Sheriff’s Office Forfeiture Funds. Approved the SouthEast Nebraska Development District (SENDD) Interlocal Agreement & Bylaws. Held Executive Session for personnel. Discussions were held on fencing options for the Missile Base; the future of the Emergency Management Department; 420th Road Paving Project and potential bonding considerations; agricultural haul route challenges; potentially vacating Rokeby Road between 392nd Road & 406th Road in M Precinct between Sections 25 & 36, Township 9 North, Range 1 East of the 6th P.M.; and the agenda item regarding the Commissioner meeting on January 6, 2026.
