COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS JULY 1, 2025 Board of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. A Board of Equalization meeting will be held on July 15th at 8:30 a.m. for Property Valuation Protest Hearings. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. Approved consent agenda consisting of: minutes of June 24, 2025; choose State print shop for Pink Postcard hearing; Annual Return of Disposed Items for County Clerk’s office; request to place sign on courthouse lawn; approve utility permit in J Precinct. Approved Seward County claims through June 20, 2025. Held Public Hearings and approved permits for Livestock Feeding Operations in Precincts N and O. Held Public Hearing and approved permit to Upgrade Existing Tower in O Precinct. Brian York of the National Safety Council, and Casey Pawling of Nebraska Intergovernmental Risk Management Assn. (NIRMA) presented information on Defensive Drive Education Opportunities. Approved food service agreement with Trinity Services for the jail. Held Executive Session for Strategy. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Approved short form plats in Precincts G, I and K. Discussion was held on the Law Enforcement Budget.
