COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS JUNE 10, 2025 Board of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. CLAIMS ALLOWED JULY 1, 2025 The Seward County Board of Equalization convened on June 10, 2025 at 8:30 a.m. a.m. Present: Chairperson: Misty Ahmic Members: Raegan Hain, Darrell Zabrocki, Ken Schmieding, Scott Pekarek County Clerk: Sherry Schweitzer County Assessor: Marilyn Hladky Approved minutes of May 27, 2025. Approved clarification of motion made on May 27, 2025. Hladky gave an update of her office. Convened as the Board of Commissioners. Approved consent agenda consisting of: minutes of June 3, 2025; May 2025 Fee Reports for Zoning, County Clerk, and District Court; Utility permits in Precincts F, G and H; and a rental agreement for a mini excavator. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Held Public Hearing and approved amending the 2024-2025 Fiscal Year Budget. Approved Chapters Bookstore request to use courthouse lawn for an event on June 18, 2025 from 12 – 6 p.m. Approved Weed Dept. Force Control and Fees after 10- or 15-day notice. Approved implementation of advanced filtering software with Soarin’ Group. Approved two Public Transit agreements. Approved retention of the same deductibles for the liability insurance with Nebraska Intergovernmental Risk Management Assn. (NIRMA). Approved Human Services Agreements with Region 5 Services and Apace. Approved request to place signs at the West Wing and Weed buildings July 2-5, 2025. Discussion was held on exploring a county wide cell phone plan; audio and visual equipment for use during Commissioner meetings; the Surplus Property policy; grant opportunities for county offices; and legislative information.
