COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS JUNE 24, 2025 Board of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. A Board of Equalization meeting will be held on July 8th at 8:30 a.m. for Property Valuation Protest Hearings. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. CLAIMS ALLOWED JULY 29, 2025 The Seward County Board of Equalization convened on June 24, 2025 at 8:30 a.m. Present: Chairperson: Misty Ahmic Members: Raegan Hain, Darrell Zabrocki, Ken Schmieding, Scott Pekarek County Clerk: Sherry Schweitzer County Assessor: Marilyn Hladky Approved minutes of June 10, 2025. Approved County Board Valuation Change Notices to be sent out by County Assessor. Held hearings for Valuation Protests. Convened as the Board of Commissioners. Approved consent agenda consisting of: minutes of June 17, 2025; and authorize Chair to sign Sub-Award for Aging Services. Approved adding Executive Session for Personnel as an emergency item to the Agenda. The Board recognized Andrea Ernesti as Veteran of the Month. Appointed Marty baker to the Veterans Service Committee for the 2025-2030 term. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Opened five rock and gravel bids. Approved awarding of all gravel bids and James Enterprises’ bid for hauling rock. Highway Supt., Jon Regnier gave information about his department. John Mabry and Amanda Fahrer of the Lincoln Food Bank spoke about the food bank work in Seward County. Jonathan Jank and Scott Gierhan of the Seward County Chamber presented their annual report and request for funding for the next fiscal year. Approved reappropriation of money to the budgets of County Court, Jail and the Veteran’s Office for Fiscal Year 2024-2025. Held Executive Session for personnel. Discussion was held on an agreement and work order for the Wehrs-Ahlschwede Reservoir Road Dam repair project; the 2025-2026 E911 budget; county cellphone plans and invoicing; Viaero’s cancellation of Bee Tower Project; and Broadband, Equity, Access & Deployment (BEAD) Funding for Seward County.
