COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS JUNE 3, 2025 Board of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. CLAIMS ALLOWED JUNE 30, 2025 The Seward County Board of Commissioners convened on June 3, 2025 at 8:30 a.m. a.m. Present: Chairperson: Misty Ahmic Members: Raegan Hain, Darrell Zabrocki, Ken Schmieding, Scott Pekarek County Clerk: Sherry Schweitzer Approved minutes of May 27. Jonathan Jank of the Seward County Chamber gave an update of the organization. Officials gave reports of their offices. Approved claims through May 23, 2025. Approved Flag Retirement ceremony on courthouse lawn on June 14, 2025. Approved Highway Supt. to go out for bids for rock and gravel. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Held Public Hearings and approved conditional use permits in Precincts I, J, M and P. Held Public Hearing and approved an Unpermitted Zoning Fee Schedule. Approved Interlocal Agreement with Thayer County to house inmates. Approved funding request from Region V Systems. Approved two short form plats in Precincts K and N. Discussion was held on County Court budget overage; a contract with Trinity Services Group for food service at the jail; an issue regarding a directive sent to supervisors concerning county cellphones; and legislative information.
