COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS MAY 27, 2025 Board of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. CLAIMS ALLOWED JUNE 17, 2025 The Seward County Board of Equalization convened on May 27, 2025 at 8:30 a.m. Present: Chairperson: Misty Ahmic Members: Raegan Hain, Darrell Zabrocki, Ken Schmieding, Scott Pekarek County Clerk: Sherry Schweitzer County Assessor: Marilyn Hladky Approved minutes of April 22, 2025 and May 13, 2025. Removed permissive exemption that was originally approved for Sunrise County, Inc. that was approved on April 22, 2025. Hladky gave an update of her office. Convened as the Board of Commissioners. Approved minutes of May 20, 2025. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Authorized Chair to sign Juvenile Servies grant, and a contract with JJK Construction for Bridge Deck Replacement. Veterans Service Officer, Ray Foreman announced Phil Miller as Veteran of the Month. Awarded the bid for culverts to Ace/Eaton. Held Public Hearing and approved a resolution to deny a permit for Viaero to operate a telecommunications tower in Precinct A. Approved food service agreement contract with Trinity Service Group. Approved sending a directive about cell phone use. Discussion was held on grant opportunities; a moratorium extension on renewable energy; and legislative information.
