MARCH 12, 2024 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Board of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. CLAIMS ALLOWED APRIL 9, 2024 The Seward County Board of Equalization convened on March 12, 2024 at 8:30 a.m. Present:Chairperson: Misty Ahmic Members: Raegan Hain, John Culver, Ken Schmieding, Darrell Zabrocki County Clerk: Sherry Schweitzer County Assessor: Marilyn Hladky Approved minutes of February 27, 2024. Approved Tax List Corrections. Hladky gave an update of her office. Convened as the Board of Commissioners. Approved Consent Agenda consisting of minutes of march 5, 2024, February 2024 Fee Reports from Clerk of the District Court and County Clerk, and the Treasurer’s Pledged Security Report for February 2024. Approved claims through March 1, 2024. Sheriff Mike Vance introduced Brandon Noordhoek as the new Detention Center Director. Officials gave reports of their offices. Accepted retirement of Becky Paulsen, Weed/Zoning Director. Adopted the 1- & 6-Year Seward County Road Program. Executive Session was held for strategy. Approved Letter of Agreement with Marvin Planning Consultants for Zoning Regulation Completion and Updates. Approved estimate from Mustang Graphic for a 12-inch decal for county vehicles. Approved Oliver Borchers-Williams as an independent contractor to help with the Broadband Challenge process. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Discussions were held on filling the Weed/Zoning position, issued with the new sign truck in the Road Dept., gWorks cancellation fees for GIS Services, additional features with the new Allo phone system, grant funds being sought by Seward County, and Legislative updates.
