NOVEMBER 4, 2025 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Board of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. Approved claims through October 24, 2025. Jonathan Jank of the Seward County Chamber gave an update of the organization. Officials gave reports of their departments. Approved request to increase 2026 IRS Flexible Spending Account contribution. Approved allowing the Seward Blue River Historical District’s request for a tax levy to be placed on the ballot for the next General Election. Approved contract with Wissmann Enterprises, Inc. for sandblasting and painting the courthouse emergency stairway. Approved authorizing the Chair to sign the year end certification of the County Highway Superintendent. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Discussion was held on the 2024-2025 Equitable Sharing Agreement & Certification (ESAC) for the Sheriff’s Office; a potential bond for the paving 420th Road project; the process for setting elected officials’ salaries; and options for contracting road work.
