OCTOBER 28, 2025 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Board of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. There will be no meeting on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 due to county offices being closed for the Veterans Day holiday. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. CLAIMS ALLOWED DECEMBER 2, 2025 The Seward County Board of Equalization convened on October 28, 2025 at 8:30 a.m. Present: Chairperson: Misty Ahmic Members: Raegan Hain, Darrell Zabrocki, Ken Schmieding, Scott Pekarek County Clerk: Brandy Johnson County Assessor: Marilyn Hladky Approved minutes of October 14, 2025. Hladky gave an update of her office. Convened as the Board of Commissioners. Approved minutes of October 21, 2025. Approved consent agenda consisting of a surplus property disposal request for the Sheriff’s office and a utility permit for Windstream in D Precinct. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Paul Spieker was introduced as Veteran of the Month. Appointed Curt Eberspacher and Dale Niemann to the Planning Commission. Held Public Hearing for and approved Conditional Use Permit for Legends Truck Repair to operate a truck body repair shop in J Precinct. Approved four short form plats in Precincts C, I, J, and N. Approved request to allow two Deputy K9 Handlers to purchase their retired K9s. Approved maintenance and support agreement with IDEMIA for Detention Center. Approved Seward Police Department’s requests for the placement of a metal storage container and flagpole at the Firearm Range, to be used by both the Seward City Police and the Seward County Sheriff’s Department. Approved 2024-2025 inventories for all departments except the Sheriff’s Department. Accepted County Treasurer’s Certification of Distress Warrants for Tax Year 2024 to be Collected by the Seward County Sheriff. Discussion was held on displaying green lights in the courthouse windows for Veterans day; and clarification of Nesbitt & Associates audit recommendations for Sheriff’s office.
