ORDINANCE NO. 941 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MILFORD, NEBRASKA TO ADD SECTION 5-520 TO THE MILFORD MUNICIPAL CODE RELATED TO PARKING TRAILERS IN THE JURISDICTION OF THE CITY OF MILFORD, AND TO AMEND CODE § 5-101. WHEREAS, Neb. Rev. Stat. § 60-680 provides authority to the City to regulate or prohibit stopping, standing, or parking on streets and highways within its jurisdiction; WHEREAS, City Code Chapter 5, Article 5 regulates parking within the City; WHEREAS, the City finds it expedient to add a new Section 5-520 to regulate the parking of trailers as provided herein. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MILFORD, SEWARD COUNTY, NEBRASKA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: That new Section 5-520 be added to the Milford Municipal Code and adopted as follows: § 5-520: PARKING; TRAILERS: It shall be unlawful for any person to park any trailer (whether attached or unattached to any other vehicle) on any public street within the City for any period longer than is reasonably necessary to load or unload the contents of said trailer. The provisions of this section shall not deny or make an offense for the parking of any vehicle or trailer while involved in the legitimate delivery or pickup of merchandise, goods, services or passengers to and from necessary locations for commercial purposes. However, this subsection does not authorize the parking of a vehicle or trailer overnight nor does this section apply to major recreational equipment which is defined and regulated in Section 5-521. Section 2: That Section 5-101 of the Milford Municipal Code be amended as follows: § 5-101: DEFINITIONS: The words and phrases used in this Chapter, pertaining to motor vehicles and traffic regulations, shall be construed as defined in Chapter 39 60 of the Reissued Revised Statutes of Nebraska, 1943, as now existing or hereafter amended. If not defined in the designated statute, the word or phrase shall have its common meaning. (Ref. 39-60260-605 RS Neb.) Section 3: That all Ordinance and Code provisions or portions of such in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to that extent. Section 4: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after publication as provided by law, and shall be published in pamphlet form.
