ORDINANCE NO. 942 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MILFORD, NEBRASKA TO ADD SECTION 5-521 TO THE MILFORD MUNICIPAL CODE RELATED TO PARKING OF BOATS AND TRAVEL TRAILERS IN THE JURISDICTION OF THE CITY OF MILFORD. WHEREAS, Neb. Rev. Stat. § 60-680 provides authority to the City to regulate or prohibit stopping, standing, or parking on streets and highways within its jurisdiction; WHEREAS, City Code Chapter 5, Article 5 regulates parking within the City; WHEREAS, the City finds it expedient to add a new Section 5-521 to regulate the parking of boats and travel trailers as provided herein. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MILFORD, SEWARD COUNTY, NEBRASKA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: That new Section 5-521 be added to the Milford Municipal Code and adopted as follows: § 5-521: PARKING; BOATS AND TRAVEL TRAILERS: Except as provided in this section, it shall be unlawful for any person who owns or controls a boat or travel trailer to park or leave standing said boat or travel trailer on any public street or parked on private property in a manner so as to encroach upon any public street or public right-of-way, including a sidewalk. The provisions of this paragraph shall not apply if: (1) The owner or operator of the boat or travel trailer is in the actual course and scope of loading or unloading goods or equipment; or (2) The boat or travel trailer is otherwise legally parked or left standing for twenty- four (24) hours or less due to a mechanical defect which makes it unsafe to move. For purposes of this section, “travel trailer” shall mean a trailer equipped for use as a temporary dwelling. (Ref. 60-680 RS Neb.) Section 2: That all Ordinance and Code provisions or portions of such in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to that extent. Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after publication as provided by law, and shall be published in pamphlet form.
