APRIL 30, 2024 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Board of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. CLAIMS ALLOWED MAY 21, 2024 The Seward County Board of Commissioners convened on April 30, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. Present: Chairperson: Misty Ahmic Members: Raegan Hain, John Culver, Ken Schmieding, Darrell Zabrocki County Clerk: Sherry Schweitzer Approved consent agenda consisting of the minutes of April 23, 2024 and the Sheriff Fee and Mileage Reports for March 2024. Highway Supt., Jon Regnier gave an update of his office. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Approved request to allow support groups held within the Seward County Courthouse by the “Well Being Initiative” in a designated space being in the 3rd Floor library. Approved limited agenda for Board of Commissioners meeting on May 14, 2024 to allow the Election Commissioner time to work with the election. Approved 0% office budget increases unless a necessary item is needed. Approved Board to sign a letter of support for a grant for the Four Corners Health Department. Approved request from County Attorney’s Office to move the funds from their Interlocal with the City of Milford to the County Attorney’s Sinking Fund. Joan Shurtliff of the Seward County Genealogical Society was present to talk about the school census records. Approved Highway Supt. go out for bids for culverts, purchase a GIS-related program, and to surplus old equipment. Patrick Kreifels of Region V Systems and Matt Kasik of Apace were present to give information about their annual requests. Discussions were held on employee appreciation/recognition event, job descriptions of the Weed Supt. and Road Dept. Utility position, grant funds being sought by Seward County.
